| A number of attractive cottages facing the road with
a courtyard behind stood on this corner from about the end of the 18th
century. These were demolished in the 1970's and the existing flats built on the site. One cottage appears to remain (white building extreme left) |
| It was one of these cottages that was Amble's earliest pub. |
