Warkworth Church of England School 1920

Front row, second from the left, Ella Gray, born 1912. Back row, second boy from left, her brother Albert Gray, born 1909.
Albert served with the 1st Battalion, Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. He died 6th May 1944 at Kohima and is commemorated on the Amble War Memorial.
Ella married George Robert Whinham in 1935 and they lived in Amble.

Back row 4th from the left - Harry Green born 1910. He was a farmer at Birling South East Farm Warkworth and also Southside Farm, Shilbottle. He died in 1999.
